"Silent Days, Holy Nights" Book Review for Just Read Book Tour

"Silent Days, Holy Nights" tells the story of Julia Russell,  a young girl, in 2002,  who steps into the castle of a older man named Henry Lafferty Her life is changed after this meeting. She overhears a secret about him that she is determined  to use for the good.  When Julia meets Mr. Lafferty she realizes that he is hearing impaired. She decides to learn sign language, so she can communicate with him. She wants to be friends with him despite  the barrier of him being hearing impaired. I really liked that about Julia. Her willingness to be friends with someone different from her. She is really a kind person.  The Epilogue, 16 years later,  says Julia went on the attend college, and earn a degree in deaf studies. She is also working on a degree in law. She is still friends with Mr. Lafferty. I am pleased that Ms. Nichols includes a person with a disability in her writing. It is nice to have diversity and inclusion of a character with a disability in Christian Fiction. My only constructive criticism is Ms. Nichols refers to Mr, Lafferty as deaf. People who are "deaf" prefer to be referred to as hearing impaired. And the long dialogue between the characters feels like rambling to me.
