Finding Beautiful Book Review

Image
The stories, the beautiful photography makes this book a great read. The author writes from a place deep within her heart to share the message of Jesus with the world, that he will take the broken pieces of our lives the world tries so hard to crumble with hate and negativity Jesus will make us whole again with his unconditional love.

Suffering Is Never for Nothing

The late Ms. Elisabeth Elliot's first husband was working in the missionary field in Ecuador when he was killed by the Indians. 2 years later, Ms. Elliot went to live with them. 16 years later, she remarried a theologian named Addison Leitch. 2 years later,  he passed away of cancer. Ms. Elliot asked the all too familiar question Where was Jesus in all of this? Why didn't he stop it? Why didn't he keep it from happening?  John 16:33, "You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world." (Christian Standard Translation) The thesis of what Ms. Elliot is saying is simple People aren't immune from suffering. Be strong Jesus is saying Because I have overcome the world. The cross overcame the world and this is why we may endure a hardship. But still, it is not as bad as what Jesus went through. Being arrested, being nailed to a cross, not to mention a crown of thrones being shoved on your head. Being spat on, mocked, beaten and while …

Made for Friendship

Dr. Hunter says there are three parts to friendship. First, it is necessary, second it is a gift, and third it is redemptive.  The necessity of friendship is if we remove it then, we lose half our joy. It equals happiness with one another. Friendship benefits one another because it is a deep connection. According to A.C. "a atheists philosopher , "The highest and finest of all human relationships is friendship." Friendship is the meaning of the cross. John 15:12, "It is my command love one another as I have loved you." No one has greater love than to lay down his life for his friend." We must treasure friendship. It is necessary for our mental, emotional, and physical health. If we do not have any connections to another human than we are emotionally and mentally unglued. We as a result, become lonely, and a person's well being is damaged. Dr. Hunter also says we ache for friendship. We do not want to be alone. God does not want people to be alone eit…

I really enjoyed this book. It begins with the 21 years go, when a unknown woman kidnaps a baby right after it is born. Fast forward to present day, F.B.I. Agent Willow Anderson and her ex-fiance are helping a woman named Ms. Mason find her lost baby daughter. As the search begins Willow's apartment is set on fire, and arson is suspected.  The ending result, The truths that will come into light will be shocking.

"The Art of Relationship"

Image
When God created Adam and Eve from the dust of the earth,  He created the very first relationship. Free from the world. Free from expectations. Adam and Eve were just two people trying to figure things out as they went along. They were building a foundation from the ground up(literally) growing and learning from each other, creating something beautiful. Yes, they had struggles, and trying times, did they throw in the towel? No, they did not have a towel!!! They were naked.  but they were blessed and they did not take their special connection for granted. Because they knew something their future generations will learn the hard way relationships and friendships are  work and of course,  God knew it.  Relationships take time, they are messy, complicated, and hard. So why even bother? What is the purpose of it all? Is there a book that offers insight into relationships? Yes, there is. "It is called "The Art of relationship." In it, Mr. Dan Chrystal explains What a friend i…

"Afraid of All Things" I can relate to this

First of all,

This book is not a traditional self-help book for Christians. It is more than that.  It is funny, insightful, and enjoyable. Scarlet the author,  allows the reader to have many aha moments. Finally, a book about anxiety that is a breath of fresh air. Something worth reading every word. I connected to this book, I connected to the subject, I am a  person with anxiety/ afraid of  a lot of things for example, I am afraid of the dark, feeling/being trapped, snow, rain, ice, thunderstorms, weird noises, and snakes. Let me say this, I do not sit in the corner all day being afraid. I get along in life, but I have almost missed out on important moments in my family's life because I was too afraid. For example, in the summer of 2016, My younger sister was getting married, to her first husband, I was happy for her, but I was so afraid to go because the wedding was taking place in Fair Grove. A small town out in the sticks with hay and a barn. That's all, but the worst par…
