The Girl Behind the Red Rope

The Girl Behind The Red Rope tells the story of the Protagonist a young girl named Grace who witnesses something shocking happen to her when she is younger.  This event will change her life forever. As a result, she goes on a journey to uncover the truth of what she saw. And the truths she finds will leave her and the reader stunned.  I thought the book overall, was good. Both authors are talented and I respect them and their work.

I know what it's like

I know what it's like to not measure up to the standards society sets

I know what it's like to lose a furry baby and be buried underneath a mound of grief  I know what it's like to struggle to make the ends meet far enough to survive from one day to the next  I know what it's like to put off homework and at the last minute work on it until very late I what it's to want more and have less I know what it's like to have a lot on my plate and feel like I will never get done I know what it's like to be at a crossroads and wonder which way to go I know what it's like to be so afraid of something that you stay up all night I know what it's like to know there is a line between the rich and the poor and the unspoken and not cross sign I know what it's like to all of the memories of your life in a box and keep it hidden away just in case I know what it's like to worry and be a little overboard I know what it's like to know I am blessed and I am th…

The Biblical View of Marriage/ Marriage, Family and Relationships

Were you raised in a Christian home? If so, What are your views on marriage? What was modeled? What was accepted? What was expected in the home? Marriage between a man and woman right? Vows spoken of love, honor, trust, and image. Image of the Godly marriage and culture (man and woman) The normal and pride and true marriage, neatly tied up and presented as such. So, why is marriage between a man and woman? Why is that what Christians accept and expect? Is it because God say it in the Bible? Gen. 1:27, "God created man in his own image, He created them male and female." (Christian Standard Translation) God makes it clear that he created marriage between a man and woman end of story. No ifs, ands or but wait.......  Christian culture accepts and encourages this view. Think about it. The models of marriage messages in Christian culture are man and woman. Father walks down the bride (woman) to meet her future husband(man) to join in a holy union. Now all the Christian couples c…

Finding Beautiful Book Review

Image
The stories, the beautiful photography makes this book a great read. The author writes from a place deep within her heart to share the message of Jesus with the world, that he will take the broken pieces of our lives the world tries so hard to crumble with hate and negativity Jesus will make us whole again with his unconditional love.

Suffering Is Never for Nothing

The late Ms. Elisabeth Elliot's first husband was working in the missionary field in Ecuador when he was killed by the Indians. 2 years later, Ms. Elliot went to live with them. 16 years later, she remarried a theologian named Addison Leitch. 2 years later,  he passed away of cancer. Ms. Elliot asked the all too familiar question Where was Jesus in all of this? Why didn't he stop it? Why didn't he keep it from happening?  John 16:33, "You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world." (Christian Standard Translation) The thesis of what Ms. Elliot is saying is simple People aren't immune from suffering. Be strong Jesus is saying Because I have overcome the world. The cross overcame the world and this is why we may endure a hardship. But still, it is not as bad as what Jesus went through. Being arrested, being nailed to a cross, not to mention a crown of thrones being shoved on your head. Being spat on, mocked, beaten and while …

Made for Friendship

Dr. Hunter says there are three parts to friendship. First, it is necessary, second it is a gift, and third it is redemptive.  The necessity of friendship is if we remove it then, we lose half our joy. It equals happiness with one another. Friendship benefits one another because it is a deep connection. According to A.C. "a atheists philosopher , "The highest and finest of all human relationships is friendship." Friendship is the meaning of the cross. John 15:12, "It is my command love one another as I have loved you." No one has greater love than to lay down his life for his friend." We must treasure friendship. It is necessary for our mental, emotional, and physical health. If we do not have any connections to another human than we are emotionally and mentally unglued. We as a result, become lonely, and a person's well being is damaged. Dr. Hunter also says we ache for friendship. We do not want to be alone. God does not want people to be alone eit…
