"Paul's 1st Missionary Journey in Antioch"

Acts Chapter 13 verse 4

"Luke emphs. once again that it was under the direction of the spirit that the missionaries set out, and were brought into a situation of conflict with the  forces of evil. Since Antioch lay some 16 miles from the sea, Paul and Barnabas set off from the nearest seaport, Secicia. It was a journey 60 miles to Cyprus a large island." We are told that John was assisting them." 13- They left Paphos to the coast of Asia Minor.  Pamphylia was a coastal district which had been a separate roman province from 25 BC to AD 43 and had been untied Lycia. Luke records how John Mark left. Was he resentful that his cousin was moved down to send place? 16- His opening words indicate that the audience made up  of Jews and God fearing Gentiles."

"He went  straight into a survey of Jewish history, the purpose of which was to show Israel was chosen by God as the savior."
(p. 236-237 Marshall, Howard)

43- "To con't the grace of God to remain faithful. God's promises were being brought to fulfillment." 48- Who had been appointed to eternal life. It could be taken in a sense that God predestined certain of them to be believe." p/ 243-245 Marshall, Howard)
