Return of the Song Blog Book Tour

Book Blurb- "Caroline Caryline's dreams were crushed when her fiance is died six weeks before their wedding. For years she wrestled with aching loss and shattered faith, struggling to find the inspiration that once came so easily. Abandoning her half- finished piano compositions, Caroline trades her old ambitions for the comfort and familiarity of the town's piano teacher.  But Caroline's world turn upside down when a mysterious stranger enters her life. Filled with courage and purpose, Caroline embarks on a quest to track down the beloved, rare piano she plated as a child. Her search leads her to Rockwater, the Kentucky estate of a wealthy gentleman, where Caroline finds her may be composing a new song."

My review- www.goodreads.com/meganjonesThe book opens with David, the main character's(Caroline) fiance travelling in Guatemala on a mission trip. David and his friend leaving their main camp area and driving on a hilly road when it starts to drizzle, as they continue driving the rain gets heavier and suddenly David cannot see the road, suddenly a mudslide causes a rush of water to take his vehicle off the road and into the water. He is swept away and is killed.  6 years later, Caroline is still mourning the loss of David and is intent on grieving  for as long as she wants. Caroline is on a journey to locate her childhood piano, so she can finish a song she began to compose for David. Throughout the book Caroline's focus is on the piano and the girl she catches playing one at her studio. The book drags on in detail about this journey. Which takes away from the story. I lost focus on the book, as a result. Of course, Caroline has a romance with the man she is staying with, and she locates to piano.  I think Ms. Nichols, kept this book as wholesome as she could and avoided any conflict, or tension from the characters which is why her writing style is not something I liked. I appreciate  her effort.
