God Speaks Your Love Language

I have read Mr. Chapman's Five Love Languages Singles Edition and I really enjoyed it. This Edition is really good as well. It recaps the Five Love Languages First, Words of Affirmation, Second Quality Time, Third Gifts, Fourth Acts of Service and finally Five Physical Touch. But he explains how they apply to the way a believer worships God. For example, The Words of Affirmation Praising God through praying, thanksgiving. Quality Time Studying Scriptures, reading a devotional  book,  mediating, Gifts, Money, Meeting the Physical Needs of others, Giving Encouragement. Acts of Service, Service to others, for example, cooking. Physical Touch Experiencing God's presence Physically. For example, Washing someone's feet.  Mr. Chapman says God communicates with us through worship with our own love languages. There is no barrier or boundaries. It comes down to us and God. Crossway Depression, Anxiety, and The Christian Life

This ebook is a clinical view of Depression, Anxiety, and The Christian Life.  I am a Christian and I suffer from Anxiety. I am on prescribed medication for it.  When Christians find out other Christians suffer or or dealing with anxiety they are quick to judge. Pointing out that why would you be anxious? Maybe you should pray more and read your Bible.  They dismiss it. They try to make it seem smaller than it really is. Being flawed to some Christians is a sin.  They have the image of what a Christian should be acting like, perfect. People are not perfect. Christians are people too. The standards some set in the church is never going to be reachable. Jesus is perfect, he is divine. Humans are flawed.  We will always be. Being a Christian and someone who suffers from anxiety It is  does not make me less of a Christian than standing in a garage makes me car. "Look at me"! I am car. It is not fair to make someone who suffers from a medical condition ...

Second- Chance Dogs

Second-Chance Dogs is a collection of stories about dogs that are rescued and the dogs that rescue us.  They are good stories and wholesome.  I enjoyed the book.  Disclaimer- "I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through the Revell Reads Book Tour Program, which requires an honest though not necessarily  positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are mine. When God's Ways Make No Sense

Sometimes in life, when a believer prays for something it does not happen or it happens in the way the person is not expecting.   And in my life this has happened recently. When my canine became older and started getting sick, I would pray and ask others to pray as well. Then she would feel better. But I would have to this all the time. I would worry and pray this became my life. I also became stressed and I worried that she would get worse and die in her sleep. I didn't know what I would do.  But then, she got worse, the last 7 months of her 11 year life. She lost weight, she could not hold her pee and she would poop after she ate. She slept all day. She was just existing.  Then, October 2nd, we had to make the choice to lay her to rest.   So, I began to question God, I wondered why she was here for 11 years and almost 8 with me and my family for her to pass away on an exam table.  When God's Ways Make No Sense is in my view about how all Christians...

"Engraved on the Heart" by Tara Johnson Book Review And Q and A

The opening scene of Chapter 1 begins with Keziah, the main character of the novel,  at a society ball dancing with a young man.  But she is distracted by  a secret. If anyone at the ball found out, her family would be a scarlet lettered forever.  Meanwhile, she tries to act as if everything is fine. She is dancing around the ball room when she suddenly passes out. Someone yells to the crowd "Is there a doctor here'? A young man named Micah appears. Her childhood friend. Someone lies her on a sofa. Micah asses her. She opens up to Micah how she feels  and tells him she is more worried about her mothers reaction than how she feels. She says her epilepsy has caused her family embarrassment. Especially  her mother who is more worried about her image and how her friends see her and the town  than her daughter's health.  Later, Micah asks Keizah if she wants to attend an Underground slave meeting. She accepts. While at the meeting a former ...

Something to think about- This is Our Time:Everyday Myths of the gospel

I enjoyed this book.   Mr.  Trevin Wax discusses in the  first chapter how young millennial generation born between 1981-1996.  are attached to their cell phones. They post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. The more likes, comments, and views seems to be the focus of their self-worth.  They place all of their time, energy, on what others  think of them, and not on just being young.  He points out that technology is not a bad thing if it is not used in excess, but rather a tool. For example, posting family pictures, encouraging posts, and positive examples of Biblical views.   He concludes the book by saying America should get back to the good old days. The gospel centered days. Disclaimer- I received a complimentary copy of this book from the bandh.com blogger program which requires an honest though not necessarily positive review. "Wheels of Wisdom" Book Review

This devotional is a really good one. There are six sections divided into 52 lessons.  The  section that spoke to me is Section 4, Lessons 24 and 25.  Lesson 24 Mr. Bishop says "Fear" of the unknown often surpasses the reality of what we will encounter."  "Our minds play tricks on us, creating what seems like insurmountable barriers between us and our destination."   "Until we decide to move forward fear cannot be unmasked."  People who have fears often let the fears run their lives. For example, if a person has a fear of storms, the dark, dogs, cats, they often stop their lives when the fear is happening. Everything is about the fear.  The fear is the center of their life and that is the sad part of fear.  Until the fear is conquered the person who has the fear is stuck and cannot live a normal life.fear steals our soul.
