Why I read

The features of this great Study Bible are Outlines for each book of the Bible.  For example, The Book of Ruth is outlined as follows I. Naomi's Challenge:Despair, Death, Depression, Verses 1-1-22  A. The Famine in Bethlehem Leaving the Land  and Friends, B. The Return to Judah Emptiness 1:6-22. II. Ruth;s Work of Gleaning 2:1-23 B. The Provision of Boaz 2:1-17 B. The Response of Ruth 2:18-23 III. Ruth's Appeal for Redemption 3:1-18. A. Naomi's Plan for Ruth 3:1-4 B. Ruth's Response to Naomi's Counsel: Obedience 3:5-9 C. The Epilogue: The Legacy of Obedience 4:17-22 The second feature of this Women's  Study Bible is questions about the book of Ruth itself. For example, Who wrote Ruth?  Perhaps a scribe. Who were the recipients? Not told. What is Ruth about?...

This devotional is a really good one.  There are five sections over 40 days. Day 1-10 Climbing with Moses, Day 11-20 "Climbing with Elijah"  Day 21-30 "Climbing with Jesus" Day 31-40 "Climbing with Peter and John"  The two sections I liked best are Day 21 "Climbing with Jesus: "Hearing Your Father's Voice" and Day 25 "Come Holy Spirit Feed Me" Mr. Spykstra says on page 117-118,  In The section "Climbing with Jesus: "Hearing Your Father's Voice"  Jesus made prayer a priority in his life. For example, when He was baptized in The Jordan River, He prayed to his Father who answered Him by ripping open the heavens and sending The Holy Spirit on him.  Throughout the gospels Jesus made prayer important in his life.  For example, after an busy day of ministry  and healing in the town of Capernaum, Jesus he needed to spend time with His Father and found a quiet place to pray. Why don't you get it? Why does everything have to be about you? Why do I dread it when you come over?  I cannot trust you so why am I so nice? I was taught better than that But still, I  am leary Why don't you get that you are annoying and get on nerves  I wish you would go way. Why don't you?

Sitting here  petting you  Thinking about how much you mean to me. I will never forget you. I will keep your face in my memory forever. If I live to be 100 I will never ever be able to understand how  blessed I am to have you here with me Your love makes me feel rich  I am joyful  I am humbled  Sitting here  I am trying hard to figure out how I ended up with the angel of my life I do not deserve you but here we are  Sitting here thinking about  how much you mean to me  How much I worry, and obsess over you. Sitting here  watching you sleep  Your chest rises and fall I know in that moment life is good and there are good people in the world that  will keep you warm at night. Sitting here.
