1. "Jesus Birth"
"Joseph went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee, to Judea and the city of Bethlehem because he was out of the house and to be registered for the census along with Mary. Mary and Joseph were engaged and Mary was also pregnant. While they were there, Mary gave birth and she wrapped Jesus tightly in linen and laid him in a manger because there wasn't a guestroom available for them." The swaddling of Jesus indicated a lonely birth for Mary." Jesus was born in a stable possibly but his birth would have taken place in the home of a poor family, where animals shared the same roof." (p.100 Morris). "The visit of the angel to the shepherds to share the news of Jesus' birth scared them They were in awe of the splendor of Jesus. The angels completed the mission by giving a sign of a baby lying in a manger. "Jesus Ministry began in Galilee. Jesus was given a scroll of Isiah The passage may have been selected by the ruler of the synagogue or Jesus himself." Jesus read the prophecy of the Messiah's Ministry to the people in distress, and the poor, and the blind and oppressed." Jesus rolled up the scroll and returned it to the attendant. He was ready for his sermon. (p.216 Morris).
"Jesus began by saying the prophecy he read was being fulfilled The words of Isaiah applied to his ministry and was it was starting." As he spoke the villagers were so impressed by the way he spoke they wanted to see if what they heard about him was true and they said so. "They were taken aback that one of their own as doing so well. They marveled at his preaching, but didn't take it to heart." (p.217 Morris). Jesus knew his reputation had spread to Nazarene and those that knew him wanted him to live up to it." He thought if did performed miracles it would benefit his reputation. (p.217 Morris). The crowd wanted proof, so Jesus said "People are ready to see greatness in strangers than those they know well." (p. 217 Morris). "Jesus made the point of Elijah helped those in hardship such as a widow of Zaprephath. And the example, is reinforced with Elisha who healed many leapers in Israel." "The crowd was upset they wanted to lynch Jesus." So, Jesus walked through the mob and wasn't angry. (p. 217 Morris)
Passover Week, According to Ex. 7-12, On the tenth day of the month every man shall take a lamb according to their household size and if the household is too small for a lamb then, a neighbor shall take according to what the people in the house can eat. The instructions were as follows, The lamb shall be male, a year old, of you don't have one, then a sheep or goat will do. And keep it until the 14th day of the month. When the whole assembly of the church, will kill lamb at twilight. They shall take some of the blood and put in the door of the intel houses in which they eat. The shall eat the flesh that night roasted on the fire, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. Don't eat it raw or boiled in water but roasted." If the head, legs, and inner parts are left burn them. You shall it eat with your belt fastened and your staff in your hand and you shall eat it in haste(hurrying) For I will strike the firstborn both man and beast and all the gods of Egypt and I will execute judgement I am the Lord. The blood will be sign on the houses where you are. When I see it I will pass over you, And no plague will befall them or destroy you. When I strike the land of Egypt. "The unleavened bread reminded the people of Israel and their quick leave from captivity." The bowl of water reminded the tears of the people of their captivity." And finally, the bitter herbs reminded the people of their time in slavery." (p. 208 Vang and Carter). The Lord's Supper took place when Jesus sit down at the table as host and said when he took the cup of wine" Drink of it for it is my blood, blood of the covenant which is poured out for forgiveness of sins." I will not drink of it until I drink it with you in my father's kingdom. When Jesus made those statements he meant that first he was atoning for the sins of the people, and second he would drink of the cup again when The Marriage Supper occurs. Jesus saw his death not as tragic, but as the will of God." (p.212 Stein.)
"The cross was held up vertically and the victims were side by side. Jesus was offered wine and myrrh. The offer was an act of compassion. Jesus had nails driven in his wrists. He was naked on the cross and shamed by onlookers. Who took pleasure in it." The time of the crucifixion was according to the Jewish view of time during Jesus time, The day and time was Thursday, at 6:00 pm. Jesus was mocked and ridiculed on the cross. His flesh was ripped open as a result of the whipping. Jesus last seven words were "Truly I tell you you with be with me in paradise." He would take the bandits to heaven with him. "Woman here is your son." Jesus was concerned for his mother. "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me" He felt the agony of the cross. "I am thirsty" he felt helpless. "It is finished" Jesus work was complete." "Father, I commit my spirit, was a prayer of commitment. (p. 246-251 Stein). Jesus burial according to John 19:40-42, Nicodemus and Joseph washed Jesus' body to remove the caked on dirt and blood." They wrapped Jesus in linen and the spices aloes and myrrh. Aloes was used as a deodorant to offset the smell on body decay." Snice, the tomb was near they laid him there."
Jesus Resurrection- Mary and Mary Magdalene came to the tomb to anoint Jesus body with additional spices." There was a strong earthquake an angel removed the large stone from the tomb and sat on it. The angel looked like a blot of lightning and this terrified the guards that they froze with fear." (p.293 Williams) When the women arrived they were surprised to find the stone was already removed. The angel comforted the women and said "Don't be alarmed he has risen." Go tell them this.
Jesus appeared Mark 16:12-13, appeared to Mary M. on the first day, She went to tell those that had with him, but when she did they refused to believe her." Jesus also appeared to two people while they were walking along on their way to the country." They also told others, but they didn't believe them either."
